Cavernous

This track was written for the Lets Make a Music Pack for Minecraft! Jam. The jams theme was to make a track for a Minecraft music pack with tracks roughly "in the style of" the original Minecraft soundtrack.

My submission was originally planned to more closely resemble the very minimalist piano driven style of some of the C418 tracks of the original Alpha and Beta soundtracks. Over time it evolved into a more synth-heavy atmospheric ambient piece. For me it still has a flavour of the Minecraft soundtrack catalogue for creating an atmosphere that is right in the spot between laid-back and adventurous. I chose to submit the track for the "Caves" category of the soundpack, due to the reverberating synths giving the impression of large underground spaces and the sparse percussive elements being reminiscent of mining sounds.
